Syngonium Care Guide

Also known as an Arrowhead plant, your Syngonium podophyllum is an easy to care for, beautifully grown, vining plant. This plant can grow anywhere in your home as it is low light tolerant. They like to vine down or climb up a strong moss pole. Their leaves offer a wide variety of different colored leaves that will leave you in awe of them.

  • Light

Although your Syngonium is low light tolerant and will give you growth in a lower lit setting, putting your plant in a spot with medium to bright indirect light, will encourage it to thrive. Avoid direct sunlight as it will scorch the leaves.

  • Water
Your Syngonium can tolerate drying out about 75% of the way. If left dry for too long the lower leaves will dry up and turn brown. If you notice this happening, soak the plant in water.

  • Humidity
If you are able to provide high humidity for this plant, they will appreciate it but will do just fine in average household humidity. Increase humidity by using a humidifier, pebble trays, or mister.

  • Soil
Almost any well-draining potting mix will be sufficient for your Ctenanthe Our go-to recommendation for a high-quality soil that’s fast draining is Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

  • Fertilizer

Your Syngonium will need fertilizer once a month during their growing months, spring and summer. No need to fertilize in the winter and fall months.
